New website!!!

We just started a new website for one of our stores. Although it will combine downtown monsters and shambee and jak, the latter didn't sound as threatening. We are going to have a weekly featured page that we may consider opening to more than just the CFCC members. Let us know if you are interested. We may charge a one or two dollar fee if the interest is there.

Craft Show

We recently went to a craft show in Orlando and had a blast. Although we did not make as much as we'd hoped, the people we met more than made up for it. We found a bunch of new venues to explore as well as some awesome ideas for some of our projects. I pray that with these new endeavors we are able to broaden our market and get our shop moving again.
Sorry we haven't written anything for sometime now. Getting ready for a craft show can be hard work. I believe we spent more than three weeks creating new polymer guys and sewing awesome pouches, which we'll be posting in the next week. I think that's all for now. Until next time kids remember to keep you nose clean and always check the seat before you sit.

What's new...

Not a whole lot. My daughter's first birthday is tomorrow. I probably should have thrown her a big party with friends and family but, after I spend tons of money on food and decorations I figure that money can go towards nicer things for her. Besides I'm not too sure many people (family) remember it's her birthday. I hate reminding people it's almost like begging for a gift. At least my brother and his family sent a gift without being told. Oh well, when she gets older she can have parties and sleepovers. Maybe she won't be as antisocial and I am. Anyhoo, thanks for reading.

Kudos

I am pleasantly surprised by the Twilight series. I thought it wouldn't hold up against Night Watch as far as me enjoying it. I zipped through the first book and have gotten half way through the second. Now don't get me wrong Night Watch is superior in many ways but Twilight has that romantic side that The Watch Series does not. I've always gone for the books with twisted plots and complicated characters but this is a nice easy read. I've welcomed the change in pace. Again Kudos to the author.

Pregnant again!

I just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant again. I'm happy but, I'm worried about our financial situation. I know in the end everything will be alright, it always is. I guess a little worry helps keep my in check. My husband and I just had a little girl about a year ago. She is the light in our lives. To make my husband happy I pray this one is a boy though because after this NO MORE!!!! Having kids is great, don't get me wrong but I don't want to be a baby factory. I hardly got my body back after the first one and it's about to be stretched out again. RRRRRR

Well to spread the joy that this family is currently feeling my friend and I decided to have a sale in our shops if you are interested. Go to http://www.shambeeandjak.etsy.com or http://www.downtownmonsters.etsy.com Everything is going for 25% off the list price. In the message to seller box write "Congrats" and we'll refund the discount.

Wish me luck!!!!

I just finished watching Twilight and was surprised to find that it wasn't all that bad. I was a bit skeptical at first thinking it would be just another teeny bopper movie. Although I found the romance to be a lot like Sookie and Bill it was not unbearable to watch. Kudos to the writer of the book and the crew that worked on the film. I'll be purchasing the book soon to see the differences between the two mediums. As with most adaptations the book is always more telling but that is something the film viewers must overlook. Just as with Night Watch, the books are awesome and give the reader much more insight into the characters but the movie gives you a different perspective. I'll blog later to let you know what I think of the Twilight books.

Ghost Hunters

I am so happy the new season started. I can not stand GHI. The head of the group is a complete ass. I don't know what it is about him that annoys me but I just can't stand him. I only watch GHI because it fills the time until the new season of GH starts. I know there has to be other people out there that feel as I do about it.

I have to say though... my friend went to the Ghost Hunters convention here in Tampa and said it fell short of her expectations. There was a meet and greet that didn't have too much meeting or greeting. The merchandise was lacking, I had asked her to bring a shirt back for e but, she said the selection was terrible. I still have faith in the team to make a fun show but I would never pay to meet them in person.

Flight of the Conchords

I can't believe the second season is going to end soon. Another great show that I hope lasts for awhile. The entire cast is so entertaining!!!!! For anyone that hasn't seen this little gem, WATCH IT!!!!! Packed full of silly antics and great songs that are sure to split your sides from laughter.
Oh Bret and Jemaine you've made Sundays have meaning again. I

Reaper

Does anyone else watch Reaper???? Well I do and the new episode aired on Monday. Something seemed a little off to me. Maybe a writter dropped ou, which wouldn't suprise me because every other show I watch ends up the same way. Anyway, the characters just didn't see, as lovable. They didn't start the season the way it ended unless I missed one. I don't remeber them explaining that the lead character was actually the sun of the devil. I'm confused. If there is anyone out there that can help me out I'd appreciate it.

I hope this does not turn out to be another Dead Like Me. I loved that show!!!! If you saw the movie.....rrrrr... that was a big disappointment. Oh, the shows I love that never last.

Lost fans

Any lost fans out there????? I've been watching seasons one through four to get my husband caught up and man I have forgotten about all the small details. Down to Ben mentioning that "this has all happened before" to building the runway.
My family and I were hoping that someone someday will put all of the scenes in chronological order. Wouldn't that be amazing!!!! There has to be a lost fan with tons of time on their hands. Any volunteers???
I can't believe I am this involved with a show. A few years ago I would have never invested this much time in a T.V. show. One more season though and it all ends. Sad but, if it went on for too long I think I'd become bored with it all.
Well off to continue my LOST obsession!!!!

Lady Dirt

I am so excited we just added a print for the mosaic table we're selling. I had created this piece in college and recently reworked the original idea. I think the new look really adds to the woman's face behind the glass.

Currently we only have a 5x7 to offer but if all goes well with these first few I hope to get some others done. Maybe a bit larger depending on how distorted it comes out.

I would rather sell the table itself but, these are hard times, a print will have to do.

Magic Kingdom

I am so excited my nieces are going to be playing with their high school band at the Magic Kingdom. We'll be able to have lunch with them on Friday and see them perform on Saturday.

That is probably the highlight of my week. Nothing very interesting going down in this household. Pretty darn boring.

Today has been interesting

Aimee's day:
Well banks stink. Over draft fees are retarded even worse when it wasn't your fault.

Stacey's day:
Today has been interesting though. Dancing with my daughter all morning, to sewing a purse that has been getting on my nerves.

Newbie!!!!

Hey there everyone!
Just wanted everyone to know a little about us. Our back story:

It all started with a Skellington. Which developed into a nightmare before Christmas. One day while watching Card Sharks Aimee turned to me and said, "It would be easy to make Zero." Peeling my eyes away from the highs and lows I replied "We should make one to display for Halloween." The responses we got were overwhelming on Halloween, we knew we couldn't stop there. That is where our story begins.
Here we are months later starting our own shop in hopes to spread our cheer world wide. With Oogie, Jack, and Zero under our belts nothing can stop us now.

Check out our shop at http://www.downtownmonsters.etsy.com
